Synopsis World War Z

Former  unemployee Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt), his wife Karin (Mireille Enos) and their two daughters wake and enjoy a family breakfast. Gerry tells the youngest daughter he quit his job to spend more time with the family. On the TV is some news about strife and talk of martial law. Later, they sit in heavy Philadelphia traffic when the city is attacked by a horde of zombies. Fast-moving "super zombies" who attack people, biting them and the bitten getting turned. The Lanes are in a car crash during the panic stampede and Gerry notices it takes 12 seconds for a bitten person to change. As the chaos spreads, the Lanes escape from the city in a stolen RV trailer and take refuge in an apartment complex in Newark. Deputy Secretary-General Thierry Umutoni (Fana Mokoena) - an old friend of Gerry's - calls and tells the family that he is sending a helicopter to rescue them. The helicopter takes the Lanes to a U.S. Navy vessel off the coast of New York City, where a team of scientists and military personnel are analyzing the scope of the worldwide outbreak.

A virologist, Dr. Andrew Fassbach (Elyes Gabel), argues that the plague is a virus, whose origin must be found in order for a vaccine to be developed. Because of his expertise as a former UN investigator, Gerry is tasked with helping Fassbach find the outbreak's source. Gerry reluctantly agrees to help, on given the word that his family will be safe, and is sent to Camp Humphreys, a military base in South Korea.

Moments after arriving at the base, Gerry's team is attacked by zombies. Fassbach is killed after accidently shooting himself. After being rescued by the base's surviving personnel, Gerry learns that the zombies are attracted to noise. Gunter Haffner (David Morse), a former CIA operative, tells Gerry to go to Jerusalem, where the Israeli Mossad had established a safe zone just before the outbreak was officially acknowledged, implying Israel might have had prior knowledge of what was to come. As Gerry prepares to leave, the infected attack and kill several of the soldiers. Only Gerry and the C130 pilot manage to escape.

In Jerusalem, Gerry meets Mossad leader Jurgen Warmbrunn (Ludi Boeken), who explains that the Mossad had months earlier intercepted communications from an Army General in India, who stated that Indian troops were fighting the "rakshasa", or "dead spirits". With this knowledge, the country quarantined itself. While Gerry talks with Jurgen, zombies begin to climb the protective wall the Israelis built, forming a massive pile that eventually succeeds in entering the city. While fleeing, Gerry notices that an old man and an emaciated boy are ignored by the zombies. While escaping, Segen (Daniella Kertesz), Gerry's escort, is bitten by a zombie. Gerry quickly amputates her hand to stop the spread of the infection. Gerry and Segen eventually manage to board a Belarus Airways airliner after Gerry's pilot panics and flies away.

Contacting Thierry, Gerry asks for the nearest WHO or CDC type lab, they are diverted to a WHO research facility in Cardiff, Wales. While in the air, a stowaway zombie is released and attacks the passengers. The plane crashes after Gerry detonates a grenade to kill the zombies. Segen and Gerry proceed as the only apparent survivors of the crash, Gerry has been impaled by a metal part. Out of contact, the US Navy assumes he is dead and deports his family to Nova Scotia.

After arriving at the facility, Gerry awakes strapped to a gurney but bandaged. He reveals a theory to the wary scientists that since the old man and the sickly boy were ignored: the infected do not bite people who are seriously injured or already terminally ill, since they would be unsuitable as hosts for viral reproduction. He volunteers to inject himself with a terminal but curable pathogen to see if his idea works. However, the wing of the building in which the pathogens are stored was overrun by zombies after a doctor accidentally infected himself. Gerry decides to go get a pathogen regardless, while Segen and one of the WHO doctors follow him for backup. They fight their way through the zombies, and Gerry finally gets to the pathogen vault.

After getting cornered inside the vault by a lone zombie, Gerry's only course of action is to perform an impromptu test of his theory. He injects himself and opens the vault door - the zombie ignores him. After he makes it back to the safe part of the facility, everyone rejoices at his theory's success, and the doctors cure him of the pathogen. Gerry returns to his family, in a safe zone in Freeport, Nova Scotia.

A "vaccine" derived from deadly pathogens is developed that can act as camouflage for the troops battling the infected. Human offensives begin against the zombies, and hope is restored. Gerry comments, "This isn't the end. Not even close."

Dahlan Iskan biography

Dahlan Iskan (born August 17, 1951 in Magetan, East Java), in his book Heart of Change is an interesting story about the date, Dahlan said that the date is written solely by Mr. Dahlan because at that time there was no record of when his parents were born and also do not remember the date of his birth. And why Mr. Dahlan vote on August 17, due to coincide with the date of independence of Indonesia and so easy to remember.

Small Dahlan raised the rural environment of scarcity view, but very strong religious atmosphere. There is an interesting story I read in his book Heart of Change that describes how all his shortcomings as a child. Small Dahlan told there have only one pair of shorts and a shirt, but still has one glove!.
And the joke-joke pack fresh Dahlan told the greatness of his holster owned. Here he was told that the glove could be anything. Starting an instrument of worship, seeking sustenance, entertainment, fashion, health until it becomes a tool to frighten.

If small Dahlan again washing clothes, gloves can placed the upper body. Then again wash the pants, gloves can be made subordinate. Then again looking for the remains of harvest of soybean fields of the rich, it can be used as glove bags. If stomach again hungry and no food at home, a sarong can be fastened tightly dipinggang he became a reliable booster stomach. If you want to pray he became an important object unutk the Lord. If more cold, he became a blanket. If the gloves were still able to rip stitches. If the place was torn stitches again, still could be patched. If any torn tambalanya, gloves were not necessarily going to retire. Could still torn up again, large parts can be used as a pillow and a small part can be used as baby diapers. There are lessons we can learn from his story, that whatever our condition, good enough, enough or more we must remain grateful, patient, and should enjoy it all with what it is.

Nothern Lights

The Northern Lights are one of the big three natural phenomena, created by our sun's magnetic activity. The Northern Lights are caused by large numbers of electrons that stream towards the Earth along a magnetic field and collide with air particles in our sky. The air then lights up rather like what happens in a fluorescent light tube - and what we see is the Northern Lights, also called Aurora Borealis.
The resulting colors of the Northern Lights reflect gases we find up there. The charged particles originate from the sun, and weather conditions on the sun and earth decide whether or not we will see this phenomenon (but the next pages in this section will help you optimize your chances). It's most common to see shades of green in the Northern Lights

Can I see them anywhere?
Yes. Although more frequent at higher latitudes, closer to the poles (such as in Canada, Alaska, Antarctica), they have been seen closer to the equator as far south as Mexico. To view them, look in the direction of the closest pole (the northern horizon in the northern hemisphere, the southern horizon in the southern hemisphere).
Can I see them at any time of the year?
Yes. In some areas, such as Alaska or Greenland, they may be visible most nights of the year. And they occur at any time of the day, but we can’t see them with the naked eye unless it’s dark.
What causes the colors and patterns?
Colors and patterns are from the types of ions or atoms being energized as they collide with the atmosphere and are affected by lines of magnetic force. Displays may take many forms, including rippling curtains, pulsating globs, traveling pulses, or steady glows. Altitude affects the colors. Blue violet/reds occur below 60 miles (100 km), with bright green strongest between 60-150 miles (100-240 km). Above 150 miles (240 km) ruby reds appear.
Fun Facts about northern lights:
  • Auroras have been observed since ancient times.
  • The height of the displays can occur up to 1000 km (620 miles), although most are between 80-120 km.
  • Auroras tend to be more frequent and spectacular during high solar sunspot activity, which cycles over approximately eleven years.
  • Some displays are particularly spectacular and widespread and have been highlighted in news accounts. Examples include auroral storms of August-September, 1859, Feb 11, 1958, (lights 1250 miles wide circled the Arctic from Oregon to New Hampshire) and March 13, 1989, (the whole sky turned a vivid red and the aurora was seen in Europe and North America as far south as Cuba).
  • Legends abound in northern cultures to explain the northern lights. Some North American Inuit call the aurora aqsarniit(“football players”) and say the spirits of the dead are playing football with the head of a walrus. Often legends warn children that the lights might come down and snatch them away.
  • June 1896, Norwegian Kristian Birkeland, the “father of modern auroral science,” suggested the theory that electrons from sunspots triggered auroras.

Holiday

December has came, so the holiday has came too. 24 th December 2013 until 5thJanuary 2014 was the semester holiday. I was very happy because in that holiday season, my teacher didn’t give any school homework. I was actually really excited because my family and I had planed to go to Bali.

26th December 2013 my family and I went to Bali by plane from Bandung. Around 05.45 o’clock we flew to Bali. Inside the plane I taught that I could sleep again because I very sleepy, but in fact I couldn’t sleep anymore.  I really enjoyed the trip because the view was very beautiful.

After I sat for one hour, the plane landed at Ngurah Rai Airport. I felt very excited because in Bali there was a lot of place that we could visit.  At the First day, my family and I visited Lake Bedugul, the scenery in the Lake Bedugul was pretty good. Therefore, my family and I took a picture there. After we had visited Lake Bedugul, my family and I went Tanah Lot. In Tanah lot we could see sunset which was very beautiful. Around 9 p.m my family and I checked in to the hotel and we immediately went to sleep.  At the Second day in Bali my family and I visited Pandawa Beach. Pandawa Beach was actually a new beach in Bali. The water in Pandawa Beach was very clean in fact we could see fishes swam in that beach. After we spent a half day in beach my family and I went to Pura Uluwatu and also took some picture there. At 7 p.m we went back to the  and took some rest. My family and I spent five days in Bali.

Finally, my family and I went home at 30th December 2013 to Bandung by plane. I think that trip was very amazing .
